The Great Adventure Lab

One week Summer Camps @ venue:

Flora Singer ES, Silver Spring

Pick one week or two: June 16 to July 10

half-day/ full-day camps Rising Grades K-6

Before and After-care available

NEW classes, new projects.

Our science, robotics and engineering summer camp is so fun, kids have no idea how much they're learning! Did your children come last year and love it?  Sign them up again since this summer we’ll be offering awesome NEW classes.

Our youngest campers, rising grades K-1 will have their own Lego Building and Engineering classes where they will learn how to create simple-machines.  In our Storybook Lego class they will listen to a story and then tell their own story using Legos. Children can even make mini, stop-action films of their own stories at our movie making station!  We are also offering Nature Science and Invention Lab workshops where campers will explore everything from butterflies to sunshine and create objects that glow, float and fly!

For our older campers (Grades 2-6), we have multiple levels of Lego Robotics (from the introductory level to Mindstorms) with special, available only in the summertime, projects.  Campers grades 2-6 can learn  Video Game Programming and we’ll be offering 3-D Printing to campers in grades 4-6.  This summer we’ll be bringing back our Invention Lab with ALL NEW, fantastic projects that combine physics and chemistry. In Out of This World Engineering we'll make mini hot-air balloons, testing out flying objects in our wind tube, playing with photo-sensitive paint, making new and improved hover-crafts and having our own solar-powered derby!

Campers can sign up for two weeks of camp without repeating projects. Just be sure to pick an A Week and a B Week.  (The classes are the same, but the projects are different!)

If my child took Week A or Week B or both weeks last year, what can s/he take this year without repeating?

Children who took our either or both weeks of our camp last year can take either or both weeks of our camp this year without repeating projects. For example, kids who took Lego Robotics last year, or in school this year, can move on to more advanced levels of Lego Robotics in camp. Ditto for Video Game Programming and 3-D design.
